Clear signing of Cardano Top 5 dApps & Ledger Button integration

Ledger Technologies SAS

ID: 69fd6ef7f9ebc26d057f51d9

This proposal aims to bridge the gap between secure cold storage and the Cardano DeFi ecosystem. Currently, ADA is a top-5 asset secured on Ledger, yet activity is largely limited to native staking. We propose a full integration that allows retail ADA holders to connect to Cardano dApps directly through Ledger Signer. This integration is centered on two industry-leading security pillars: **Clear Signing** and **Ledger button**, ensuring that as liquidity flows into Cardano DeFi, user security remains uncompromised.

Scorecard

13 of 19 criteria answered
Red · 38%

How this score works

Each criterion is worth between 1 and 4 points. The score is the points earned out of the points on criteria that have been answered — shown as a percentage. Green is 75% or higher, Amber is 50–74%, and Red is below 50%.

Some criteria are checked automatically against the proposal data (open source, doxxed team, treasury return clauses, etc.). Others are human-judgment calls — value for money, public good, whether the deliverables are realistic. Those stay blank until a DRep ticks them.

Criteria can also be marked Not applicablewhen they don't fit the proposal — for example, "open source" doesn't apply to a DAO governance proposal with no software output. Those are excluded from the score entirely, neither helping nor hurting.

Green requires 80% coverage. If less than 80% of the applicable criteria (by points) have been answered, the verdict stays at Amber — "pending review" — even when every answered criterion passes. This proposal's coverage is currently 68% (13 of 19 applicable criteria answered).

Without naming dApps, no commitment evidence from the dApp side exists — the dApps themselves typically have to cooperate to expose transaction schemas in a clear-signing-compatible format. Whether Minswap, Indigo, VyFinance, Liqwid, Sundae etc. have agreed to integrate is not addressed. The 'Transaction Check' anti-drainer feature relies on a real-time database of known threats, but the data source / curation model / coverage for Cardano-side threats is unspecified."

"ai_review_notes": "Largest of the three Ledger proposals (3.46M ADA). Same structural issues: (1) work package description and metrics are placeholder text ('detailed proposal is currently being finalized'); (2) no milestone breakdown — 'will be an integration in one-go, therefore the only milestone is the completion of the work'; (3) no treasury return clause, above-market peg; (4) no third-party assurance allocated; (5) which 5 dApps are in scope is not stated — this is the substantive scoping question and the absence of named dApps is material because Ledger needs dApp cooperation for transaction-schema clear signing. The strongest case for the funding category is clear: DeFi-on-Ledger clear-signing protects retail users from drainer attacks. The weakest case is the proposal as written: no scope, no milestones, no metrics, no return, no audit, no named dApp adopters."
